Tax Practitioners Board (“TPB”) – who are they and what do they do ?

The Tax Practitioners Board (TPB) is a national body responsible for the registration and regulation of tax agents and BAS agents (collectively referred to as ‘tax practitioners’). The TPB is also responsible for ensuring compliance with the Tax Agent Services Act 2009 (TASA), including the Code of Professional Conduct (Code). In part, these regulations are designed to protect and assure consumers that tax practitioners meet appropriate standards of professional and ethical conduct.

There have been a number of recent changes to the Code of conduct which includes requiring all tax agents to make their clients and prospective clients aware of various resources and information – please see below a link to our recently added website page which provides this information.
